Description
The Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) offers postdoctoral research positions through the NRC Research Associateship Programs in the Quantum Science and Technology Section. The research focuses on solid-state quantum science and technology, including:
- Single and entangled photon sources
- Magnetic field sensing
- Quantum networking
- Frequency conversion
- Coherent control of matter qubits
- Integrated photonics and optoelectronics
- Neuromorphic computing
- Fundamental spectroscopy and quantum optics of new material systems
Current material systems of interest include defect spin qubits in silicon carbide and silicon, III-V semiconductor quantum dots and heterostructures, and two-dimensional layered materials.
Applicants should have demonstrated laboratory experience and a record of publication in one or more of these or closely related areas. U.S. citizenship or permanent residency is required.
Recent publications from the group highlight advances in quantum dot coherence, silicon-vacancy magnetometry, remote quantum emission in 2D semiconductors, and nanophotonic waveguide strain tuning.
