The Special-Year Program Membership at the Institute for Advanced Study (IAS) School of Mathematics offers approximately 20 positions annually for mathematicians and theoretical computer scientists at all career stages. Members participate in a focused thematic program during a specific academic year, engaging in collaborative research, seminars, workshops, and related events. For 2026–27, the theme is "Conformally Symplectic Dynamics and Geometry" with Distinguished Visiting Professor Michael Hutchings (UC Berkeley). Memberships provide an immersive environment for full-time research, with access to on-campus housing and institutional resources for 2–11 months.
