This program provides federal assistance to eligible state agencies for the conservation and recovery of marine and anadromous species listed under the Endangered Species Act (ESA) and under the jurisdiction of NOAA’s National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS). Funding supports activities such as management, scientific research, monitoring, and outreach to address priority actions in ESA Recovery Plans or Outlines. Proposals may also address candidate, proposed, or recently delisted species, but priority is given to listed species. Projects should demonstrate clear conservation benefits and align with NMFS-identified priorities.
