The Sphinx Competition is an annual national event held in Detroit for string musicians, designed to celebrate artistic talent and support the career advancement of young Black and Latino musicians. The competition features Junior (17 and under) and Senior (18–30) divisions, with finalists performing with the Sphinx Symphony Orchestra and competing for substantial cash prizes, scholarships, and career opportunities.
