This scheme is designed to help early-career, non-clinical biomedical scientists in the UK launch their independent research careers. Springboard offers a bespoke package of support, including up to £125,000 in flexible funding over two years, access to the Academy of Medical Sciences’ mentoring and career development programme, and opportunities for networking and professional growth. The program specifically targets researchers who have recently started their first independent (salaried) academic appointments and have not yet secured substantial research funding.
Springboard welcomes applications from across the full spectrum of biomedical research—from molecular and cellular biology to public health—provided the work aligns with the Academy’s mission to improve health through research.
