Description
This funding opportunity supports the creation and operation of community-based Stabilization and Assessment Services (STAS) programs for youth ages 11 to 17 across New Jersey who face significant behavioral or emotional challenges, often linked to complex trauma. Each awarded contract will establish a five-bed, homelike, ADA-accessible setting providing short-term, trauma-informed therapeutic care, comprehensive diagnostic assessments, and individualized service planning. The program emphasizes family engagement, culturally competent care, and collaboration with child protection, juvenile justice, and education systems, aiming to stabilize youth and transition them to less restrictive environments while maintaining their connections to family, school, and community.
