The Stanton Nuclear Security Fellowship, sponsored by the Stanton Foundation and hosted by the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), offers a twelve-month, in-person fellowship for postdoctoral scholars focused on nuclear security. Fellows design and lead their own research projects addressing issues such as nuclear war, terrorism, proliferation, deterrence, force posture, and nuclear energy as it relates to security. The program includes mentorship from a senior CFR researcher, participation in the annual Stanton Nuclear Security Seminar, and the expectation to produce at least one policy-relevant document during the fellowship year. The fellowship is based in either CFR’s New York or Washington, DC office, with a requirement to work on-site at least four days per week.
