The State Fellowship offers graduate students and recent graduates a unique professional opportunity to gain hands-on experience in coastal and marine resource management and policy in Georgia. Modeled after the Knauss Marine Policy Fellowship, this program places fellows with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as non-governmental partners and industries, to address real-world challenges and policies affecting Georgia’s marine and coastal environments. The 2026 Gray’s Reef Research and Resource Management Fellowship is an on-site position in Savannah, GA, where the fellow will support NOAA’s Gray’s Reef National Marine Sanctuary in resource management, policy review, science, and public engagement.
