This opportunity provides funding to states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories to operate their own educational loan repayment programs for primary care providers. The goal is to increase access to care in Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) by supporting loan repayment for providers who commit to serving in these underserved locations. The program is administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and is intended to help states attract and retain qualified primary care professionals in areas with the greatest need.
Note: This program is not open to individual researchers or institutions other than state or special district governments. Researchers interested in loan repayment should contact their state’s program or HRSA for more information.
