Description
The State Park Road Account Program (SPRA), administered by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR), provides financial assistance to local governments for the improvement, construction, reconstruction, and maintenance of roads that serve state parks, trails, scientific and natural areas, wilderness areas, forests, wildlife management areas, and water access sites throughout Minnesota. The goal is to enhance public access to outdoor recreation facilities by supporting infrastructure projects that connect communities to these resources. Funding may be used for county state-aid highways, county, township, and city roads that provide access to eligible recreation units.
