This opportunity provides supplemental funding to support Statewide Perinatal Quality Collaboratives (PQCs) in improving the quality of maternal and infant care across healthcare facilities. The focus is on implementing the revised AHRQ Safety Program for Perinatal Care, Phase 2 toolkit (SPPC-II), with an emphasis on birth equity and reducing disparities in care and outcomes. The project aims to ensure equitable, respectful care in birthing hospitals and facilities, and to evaluate both the implementation and impact of the revised safety program.
Component A funds PQCs currently supported by CDC to implement and assess the SPPC-II. Component B supports technical assistance, training, and evaluation activities to help PQCs with implementation and to assess the overall effectiveness and adoption of the SPPC-II, particularly regarding respectful maternity care practices.
