Description
This funding opportunity, offered by the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), seeks a non-federal partner from the Great Rivers Cooperative Ecosystem Studies Unit (CESU) to conduct a collaborative study with the Corps of Engineers. The project aims to:
- Perform a statistical power analysis to determine the sampling effort needed to detect changes in native fish populations in Pool 22 of the Upper Mississippi River (UMR).
- Identify indicator fish species to guide future monitoring.
- Provide statistical evidence to inform future performance monitoring efforts related to fish passage structures.
The work includes analyzing long-term electrofishing data, determining sampling site requirements under various population change and statistical power scenarios, and preparing summary reports with recommendations for future monitoring. Optional tasks include additional field data collection in subsequent years.
