The Steel Curriculum Development Grant aims to increase the number of students studying steel-related curricula in North America and encourage them to pursue careers in the iron and steel industry. The grant provides funding for professors to develop or enhance courses and programs that raise the visibility and relevance of the steel industry within engineering and engineering technology disciplines (including metallurgical, materials science, chemical, electrical, mechanical, industrial, environmental, and computer science). Projects should integrate current steel manufacturing knowledge and foster direct connections between students and the steel industry. Recipients are expected to modernize curricula, facilitate student-industry engagement, and create clear pathways for students to enter the steel workforce.
