    Description

Gilead Sciences’ Strategic Initiatives are a suite of targeted grant programs designed to address critical health challenges in communities worldwide. Through partnerships with organizations, these initiatives fund projects that advance education, expand access to care, improve public health infrastructure, and support innovative programs in areas such as HIV, viral hepatitis, oncology, and health equity. Each initiative focuses on unique populations and needs—such as reducing stigma, increasing testing and prevention, supporting aging with HIV, and addressing disparities for marginalized groups—with the overarching goal of creating meaningful and lasting change beyond medicine.

Strategic Initiatives include, but are not limited to:

    • TRANScend®: Supporting transgender community health and HIV outcomes.
    • HepConnect: Addressing hepatitis C in the U.S. Appalachian region.
    • COMPASS Initiative®: Combating HIV in the U.S. South.
    • Setting the P.A.C.E.: Advancing HIV prevention and health equity for Black women and girls.
    • Oncology Health Equity Grants: Tackling cancer disparities in the U.S. and internationally.
    • RADIAN®: Improving HIV prevention and care in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
    • HIV Age Positively®: Enhancing quality of life for people aging with HIV.

Projects may address direct services, education, advocacy, community empowerment, infrastructure, or research, depending on the specific initiative.
