    Description

The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the NIH, is forecasting a funding opportunity to support Centers for Structural Biology of HIV and other Infectious Diseases. The goal is to fund multidisciplinary teams to determine the three-dimensional structures of molecules and molecular complexes relevant to priority infectious diseases. Research will focus on high-resolution 3D analyses, computational modeling, functional and mechanistic characterization at molecular and cellular levels, atomic-level visualization, and structure-guided design of new therapeutics and diagnostics. The centers are expected to foster collaboration, maximize use of shared resources, and provide mentorship for the next generation of structural biology researchers.
