Summary: Annual program supporting M.Sc. and Ph.D. students globally for innovative research in bat ecology and conservation.
The annual Student Research Scholars Program by Bat Conservation International (BCI) aims to expand global capacity for bat research by supporting graduate students (M.Sc. and Ph.D.) engaged in cutting-edge studies on bat ecology and conservation. The program emphasizes evidence-based conservation and encourages projects that integrate community engagement, mentoring, and equity. Supported research addresses urgent conservation challenges, such as habitat loss, climate change, agricultural expansion, human–bat conflict, and ecosystem services provided by bats. Scholars benefit from financial support, professional development, and access to a global network of bat researchers and conservationists. Special honors and awards recognize outstanding student contributions in innovation, equity, and evidence-based conservation.
