The Sundance Institute Artist Accelerator Program is designed to empower independent storytellers by providing a comprehensive suite of support mechanisms. Since its launch in 2021, the program has addressed the evolving challenges faced by emerging and mid-career artists in film and media, offering yearlong fellowships, project advancement and completion grants, individualized mentorship, and community-building opportunities. The program champions access, equity, and sustainability by collaborating with peer organizations, public agencies, and grassroots collectives, and is open to both U.S.-based and international artists working on feature-length fiction, nonfiction, shorts, episodic, and innovative projects.
