Summary: Supports local partnerships in Ethiopia to strengthen capacity for disease prevention, detection, and response under the Global Health Security Agenda.
This opportunity, offered by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Global Health Center (CDC-GHC), aims to expand global health security in Ethiopia by supporting local partnerships. The program works closely with the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Ethiopian Public Health Institute (EPHI), and other government agencies to build capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to priority diseases. Strategic focus areas include laboratory strengthening, workforce development, surveillance, emergency response and management, antimicrobial resistance, immunization, and health information system strengthening. The initiative builds on previous CDC collaborations to advance Ethiopia’s International Health Regulation (IHR) compliance and response to public health emergencies.
