--- ## Description This funding opportunity aims to coordinate and advance the European Research Area (ERA) policy action on accelerating New Approach Methodologies (NAMs) for biomedical research and regulatory testing of medicinal products and medical devices. The initiative seeks to establish an EU-wide forum that brings together ministries, regulatory agencies, research funders, academia, industry (including SMEs and startups), and other stakeholders to harmonize policies and strategies for the development, validation, acceptance, and uptake of NAMs. The project will support four thematic working groups: - **Development and integration of NAMs and infrastructures** - **Validation and regulatory acceptance** - **Education and training on NAMs and the 3Rs principles** - **Openness and awareness** (improving access to protocols, harmonizing awareness among stakeholders, and increasing regulator confidence) The goal is to leverage scientific strengths, promote best practices, and foster collaboration to ensure innovative and ethical biomedical research across the EU and Associated Countries. --- ## Due Dates - April 16, 2026: Full application submission deadline (17:00 Brussels time) --- ## Funding Amount - **Total available for this topic:** Around €2,900,000 (lump sum) - **Indicative number of grants:** 1 Funding is provided as a lump sum under a Coordination and Support Action (CSA) model. --- ## Eligibility - **Eligible applicants:** Legal entities established in EU Member States or Horizon Europe Associated Countries. - **Consortium composition:** The coordinator must be a legal entity from an EU Member State or Associated Country. - **International participation:** Entities from the United States may participate and receive funding;
