--- ## Description This opportunity, issued by the Department of Defense (DoD) through Washington Headquarters Services, seeks to build a partnership with the National Association of Counties Research Foundation (NACoRF) to enhance military readiness. The program focuses on engaging counties to develop local capacity around DoD installations and ranges, facilitating natural resource management, conservation, and compatible land use practices. The initiative aims to: - Foster collaboration between DoD and county leaders. - Increase county understanding of DoD resources and activities. - Develop strategies for engaging private landowners and addressing concerns related to foreign ownership of land near military facilities. - Support conservation and protection efforts for working lands, forests, agricultural lands, watersheds, and habitats near DoD installations.
