The Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community is a European Commission initiative designed to facilitate the reunification of Cyprus. It provides stable, annual funding to support social and economic development, upgrade infrastructure, foster reconciliation and confidence-building, strengthen civil society, and align the Turkish Cypriot community with EU standards in anticipation of a comprehensive settlement. The programme is exceptional, transitional, and temporary, operating in areas where the Republic of Cyprus does not exercise effective control. Funding is delivered through grants, procurement contracts, and contribution agreements with international organisations and Member State agencies.
