Summary: Supports the launch of new environmental health research training programs for predoctoral trainees at institutions without recent NIEHS T32 funding.
Key Information: Forecasted opportunity; eligibility limited to institutions without NIEHS T32 funding in the past 5 years.
This opportunity provides support for institutions to develop and implement new, innovative environmental health sciences (EHS) training programs for predoctoral researchers. The aim is to broaden the institutional, geographic, and research reach of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) by funding programs at institutions that have not received NIEHS T32 training grants in the previous five years. The two-phase award (UE5 for development, T32 for implementation) is designed to foster programs aligned with the NIEHS mission of understanding how environmental factors impact biological systems and translating this knowledge to improve human health. Only meritorious applications will be considered, following standard NIH peer review.
