Description
UN Women seeks Responsible Partners to implement community-led conflict prevention under the joint “Sustaining Peace and Social Cohesion through a National-led Prevention” programme, whose direct recipients are UNDP, UNICEF, and UN Women. The initiative advances Sierra Leone’s first National Prevention Strategy, connecting accountable governance with grassroots engagement to reduce political polarization, hate speech, disinformation, and election-related violence ahead of the 2028 elections and beyond.
Partners will localize the strategy, strengthen local peace architectures, and foster women’s leadership in Western Area Urban, Western Area Rural, Kono, and Tonkolili. Supported approaches include community consultation, capacity-building, peace narratives, safe dialogue spaces, and coordination with government, local authorities, media, and civil society. Gender-sensitive, locally appropriate innovation and meaningful inclusion of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable communities are central priorities.
