The Sustainable Peering Infrastructure Grant Program, managed by the Internet Society Foundation, aims to advance affordable, reliable, and sustainable local internet connectivity by supporting the development and enhancement of community-led Internet Exchange Points (IXPs) and peering ecosystems. The program targets regions most in need—especially United Nations-recognized Least Developed Countries (LDCs) and Small Island Developing States (SIDS)—to reduce reliance on costly international transit, improve network resilience, and strengthen technical communities. Grants are available for both establishing new IXPs and enhancing existing ones, as well as for projects that build capacity and foster collaboration within local peering ecosystems.
