Description
This opportunity aims to address public health workforce (PHW) development needs and strengthen the capacity to prevent, detect, and respond to diseases and public health priorities, including outbreaks. The focus is on enhancing epidemiologic workforce and program capacity at both regional and country levels, fostering collaboration among PHW development programs, and supporting networking with global and regional partners. Field Epidemiology Training Programs (FETP) are a central component, but other workforce development approaches are also encouraged. Activities may include training, scientific conferences, meetings, establishing standards, monitoring and evaluation, and improving communication. Awardees will work closely with the CDC and partners to assess PHW needs, develop plans to address gaps, and strengthen existing programs, particularly in collaboration with Ministries of Health and public health institutions.
