Description
This Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action (RIA) supports projects that address the escalating challenge of pesticide resistance in agriculture and forestry. The call aims for a holistic, science-based approach, developing actionable recommendations to improve crop protection strategies, empower stakeholders with knowledge and tools (including sustainable, environmentally friendly alternatives), and enhance data-driven monitoring and foresight capacities.
Key expected outcomes include:
- Development of integrated, science-based strategies for managing pesticide resistance;
- Empowerment of farmers, advisors, and practitioners with innovative tools and knowledge;
- Strengthened foresight and monitoring to anticipate resistance trends and support long-term agricultural resilience.
Projects should map resistance risks, develop early detection and predictive modelling (including AI-driven methods), design and evaluate innovative integrated pest and weed management strategies, innovate post-harvest storage and handling, support foresight activities, and enhance capacity-building and stakeholder engagement. Proposals must implement a multi-actor approach and leverage relevant research findings and collaborations, aligning with EU agricultural and sustainability policies.
