    Description

This opportunity funds interdisciplinary research teams to advance the understanding of risks and development of late and long-term toxicities associated with cancer treatments, and to develop evidence-based strategies to improve survivorship care after treatment. Emphasis is placed on collaboration across disciplines and sectors, meaningful engagement of knowledge users and patients, and research that addresses equity, diversity, inclusion, and culturally safe practices—particularly for Indigenous Peoples. Projects should focus on survivorship beyond the acute treatment phase and may address areas such as breast cancer, cardiopulmonary toxicities, endocrine/metabolic health, Indigenous health, musculoskeletal health, neurological and mental health, pediatric cancer survivorship, and reproductive and sexual health in breast cancer survivors.

Funded teams are expected to generate actionable insights and contribute to improved care and quality of life for cancer survivors in Canada, with a strong focus on knowledge mobilization and robust data management.
