    Description

This opportunity supports collaborative research teams of two or three principal investigators to address a single, high-impact question in melanoma research that cannot be accomplished by individual efforts. Emphasizing synergy, multidisciplinary approaches, and both short- and long-term impact, the program seeks projects that advance understanding or management of melanoma with particular relevance to the health care needs of Service Members, Veterans, and Military Health System beneficiaries. Projects must address at least one of the FY26 focus areas, such as risk factors and biomarkers, detection technologies, disease mechanisms, preclinical models, rare melanomas, psychological and social impacts, or physical and lifestyle factors. Clinical trials are not permitted, and preliminary data are required. Involvement of melanoma survivors or patient advocates is encouraged to enhance research impact and relevance.
