Summary: Supports technology-enabled collaborative learning to improve retention of health care providers and increase access to health care in rural and underserved areas.
This program funds the development, evaluation, and expansion of technology-enabled collaborative learning and capacity-building models (such as Project ECHO and similar models) to support health care providers working in rural, frontier, health professional shortage, and medically underserved areas, as well as for medically underserved populations and Native Americans. The goal is to improve provider retention and increase access to quality health care services through innovative technology-enabled training and support.
Projects must develop and deliver instructional programming, train health care professionals, and conduct evaluation activities to measure impact on patient outcomes and workforce retention. Applicants are encouraged to propose new or enhanced learning models that use technology to foster collaboration, share best practices, and address critical health needs in underserved communities.
