Description
The Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) is accepting applications on behalf of the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) Tuberculosis and Hansen’s Disease Section. The program aims to reduce tuberculosis transmission along the Texas–Mexico border and protect public health in Texas by ensuring that Mexico Binational Tuberculosis programs provide prevention and care services under DSHS standards.
The grantee will act as the fiduciary agency and provide operational oversight for four programs serving Juárez, Nuevo Laredo, Matamoros and Reynosa, and Piedras Negras and Acuña. Services include tuberculosis evaluations and diagnosis, specimen collection, contact investigation, directly observed therapy, referrals, and education. The work also involves agreements and contracts for clinical staff, video directly observed therapy, and cross-border specimen transport.
