Description
The Thoracic Surgical Oncology Clinical Trial Research Training Fellowship is designed to provide thoracic surgeons with rigorous, hands-on training in the design and execution of clinical trials within an industry-academic environment. Fellows spend 9–12 months onsite at a pharmaceutical industry partner—typically AstraZeneca—gaining direct experience in clinical trial design, protocol writing, endpoint selection, and data interpretation. The program aims to deepen fellows’ understanding of late-stage clinical development, expose them to emerging therapies, and foster the skills needed to lead and contribute to multidisciplinary cancer research. Fellows are expected to complete a clinical research project, contribute to scientific publications, and present their work at relevant conferences.
