Description
The Tirone E. David International Fellowship, administered by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS) Foundation, is designed to support international cardiac surgeons within 14 years of completing their training. The fellowship provides funding for observational clinical training at a North American host institution and enables a visiting mentorship, where an experienced cardiac surgeon-mentor visits the recipient’s home institution to provide further training, education, or research support. The program aims to enhance clinical skills, foster professional relationships, and improve global cardiac surgical care. Awardees are expected to share their findings with the community upon completion.
