Description
This program, administered by the Office on Violence Against Women (OVW), provides funding to states, tribal governments and organizations, local governments, and nonprofit entities to develop and implement comprehensive approaches to address abuse in later life. The focus is on victims aged 50 or older who experience domestic or dating violence, sexual assault, stalking, neglect, abandonment, economic abuse, or other willful harm. Funded projects must include training, direct services, multidisciplinary community responses, and cross-training to improve identification and support for older victims. Applicants must form a required partnership with at least one law enforcement agency, one prosecutor’s office, one victim service provider, and one agency or nonprofit with experience serving individuals 50+.
