The Transformation of Mental Health Care Program, offered by the Klingenstein Third Generation Foundation, funds academic investigators to conduct high-quality research aimed at improving access to and delivery of mental health care for children and adolescents. The program prioritizes projects that serve low-income, under-resourced, or minoritized communities and emphasizes scalable, novel models—such as new care delivery approaches, digital interventions, and work in nontraditional settings. Funded research must build on promising pilot data and focus on implementation and service outcomes (e.g., reach, feasibility, acceptability, improved access), with the ultimate goal of producing evidence that can inform larger demonstration projects and transformative advances in youth mental health care.
