Summary: Supports transitional housing and support services for victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking who are homeless or at risk.
This program provides funding to support transitional housing and related support services for victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking who are homeless or in need of housing assistance as a result of these crimes. The grant aims to help victims achieve safety, stability, and self-sufficiency by funding both transitional housing (up to 24 months, with possible six-month extension) and voluntary support services such as case management, counseling, employment assistance, and help securing permanent housing. Eligible applicants include state, local, and tribal governments, as well as nonprofit organizations with a documented history of effective work addressing these forms of violence. Projects must provide both housing and support services, and all support services must be voluntary.
