Description
This opportunity, administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury under the RESTORE Act Direct Component, provides funding for construction and real property acquisition activities—including environmental restoration projects—in the Gulf Coast region. The program was established in response to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill to restore and protect the region’s natural resources, economy, and communities. Eligible projects include restoration of ecosystems, infrastructure improvements, flood protection, workforce development, and tourism promotion, among others. Projects may be submitted with or without a non-federal cost-share and must align with the eligible activities defined in the RESTORE Act and Treasury regulations.

- Geographic Focus: Gulf Coast region, specifically the states of Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and their eligible coastal political subdivisions (including certain Louisiana parishes and Florida counties).
- Eligible Activities: Only construction, land acquisition, and environmental restoration projects (including those requiring federal or state permits) are eligible under this FOA. Non-construction activities must apply under a separate announcement.
Application Process
- Applications must be submitted through the Treasury’s RESTORE Grant Management System (RGMS).
- Proposals should clearly describe the project’s alignment with eligible activities under the RESTORE Act and Treasury regulations (31 CFR 34.201).
