    Description

This opportunity from the Department of Defense (U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District) seeks Statements of Interest (SOI) for a cooperative agreement to conduct a wildlife habitat assessment of tree islands within Water Conservation Area 3 and Everglades National Park, Florida. The project supports the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan (CERP) by investigating the relationships between hydrology, vegetation structure, and wildlife communities on at least 30 tree islands. The research will generate indices of wildlife species richness, characterize vegetation, and develop a Tree Island Wildlife Habitat Index for integration into public USGS platforms, ultimately informing restoration performance and ecosystem health in the Everglades.
