The Tribal Energy Development Capacity (TEDC) grant, administered by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA), aims to enhance the management, organizational, and technical capacity of federally recognized Tribes and Tribal Energy Development Organizations (TEDOs) to maximize the economic impact of energy resource development on Indian land. Funding supports the development of business structures, legal and regulatory infrastructure, and capacity-building activities, including those aligned with the TERA Pathways Initiative for energy self-determination under the Tribal Energy Resource Agreement framework. Projects must be completed within a one-year period and must take place on Indian land as defined by federal statute.
