--- ## Description The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), part of the NIH, intends to fund the establishment of multidisciplinary Tuberculosis Research Units (TBRUs). These units will form a collaborative network to deepen understanding of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) and its interaction with the human host. Research will focus on bacterial and host heterogeneity, infection outcomes, disease progression, and identification of determinants relevant to Mtb establishment, dissemination, and disease stage.
