Description
This program provides summer stipends to Williams College faculty for the development of new tutorial courses or the conversion of existing courses into the tutorial format. The initiative is designed to encourage curricular innovation and expand the range of tutorial offerings across all academic departments. Tutorials at Williams are modeled after the Oxford system, featuring small, discussion-oriented classes that promote deep engagement and individualized learning. Faculty who receive stipends are expected to offer the new or revised tutorial in the following academic year and at least once more.
