The UBC Dissertation Prize is an annual award presented by the University of British Columbia to doctoral students whose dissertations are deemed to be of exceptional quality, originality, and make a significant contribution to their academic field. Each year, three prizes of $1,000 are awarded—one each in the areas of social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health sciences. Recipients are selected from among nominees to the CAGS/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Awards competition, based on recommendations from the Faculty of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies.
