The UCSF Psychiatry Research Resident Training Program (RRTP) is designed to nurture and support psychiatry residents with a strong interest in developing research careers in mental health. The program offers a flexible, individualized training environment, including career mentoring, protected time for research, pilot research funding, and ongoing career development support. Residents participate in research activities spanning clinical, translational, and basic science fields, with mentorship from experienced faculty and collaboration with the UCSF Clinical & Translational Science Institute. The RRTP also facilitates continued career support post-residency, including guidance on postdoctoral fellowships and career awards.
