Description
This funding opportunity, administered by Innovate UK as part of UK Research and Innovation (UKRI), aims to accelerate the development and deployment of electrochemical ultra long duration energy storage (ULDES) technologies in the UK. The initiative targets solutions capable of providing at least 100 continuous hours of electrical discharge, supporting the UK’s transition to a low-carbon energy system. The competition funds project development studies (Phase 1) that will lay the groundwork for future large-scale demonstrators, with a planned Phase 2 competition for technology demonstration projects anticipated in 2027.
