Description
This funding opportunity, administered by Innovate UK (part of UK Research and Innovation), aims to support the development of ultra long duration energy storage (ULDES) technologies through project development studies. The initiative is designed to accelerate the scale-up, demonstration, and UK manufacture of electrochemical storage solutions capable of delivering over 100 hours of continuous electrical power, with the goal of enabling grid-scale, long-term energy storage to support the UK’s transition to a net zero energy system. The grant is part of a two-phase program, with this Phase 1 competition focused on feasibility and technical planning for future demonstrator projects.
