Description
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) runs this program with funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency under the federal Water Infrastructure Improvements for the Nation Act. It helps small, underserved Wisconsin public water systems address regulated contaminants and return to compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act.
Eligible work can include project planning, technical and managerial assistance, staff training, service line inventories, non-routine testing, new water sources, connections to systems with safe water, distribution improvements, service line replacement, storage, and treatment facilities. Projects must address an active eligible violation or action level exceedance.
