--- ## Description This Horizon Europe call invites proposals to advance the understanding of biomass production and use across Europe by developing innovative, low-administration monitoring, modelling, and digital assessment tools at various scales. Projects should deliver updated and projected estimates of biomass supply and demand up to 2050, considering sustainability, quality, risks, and regional diversity. The grant targets research that enables robust, data-driven support for policy and business decisions in the European bioeconomy, biotechnology, and circular economy, with an emphasis on sustainability, biodiversity, and environmental impact. Expected outcomes include: - Improved understanding of the environmental, social, and economic potential and sustainability of various biomass types. - Enhanced stakeholder capacity (private and public) to optimize resource efficiency in biomass production, processing, and use, including through digital tools and AI. - Support for businesses and administrations to optimize biomass supply and use while protecting ecosystems, reducing emissions, and ensuring fair access to resources. Projects must address: - Development of innovative monitoring and modelling tools for biomass flows at European, national, and regional levels. - Estimates and projections of biomass supply and demand to 2050, considering quality, use, sustainability, and risks. - Feasibility testing of biomass reporting in at least 10 diverse European countries.
