Description
The Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) is a targeted program under the Homeland Security Grant Program (HSGP), administered by the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA/HS). UASI is designed to help high-threat, high-density urban areas in Georgia strengthen their capabilities to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism and other major security threats.
Funding supports a comprehensive approach to urban preparedness, including planning, equipment acquisition, training, and exercises. UASI investments are aligned with national priorities such as protecting soft targets, supporting homeland security task forces, enhancing cybersecurity resiliency, election security, and border crisis response.
