This microgrant program supports U.S. civil society organizations and groups in developing projects that use Pulitzer Center-supported journalism to amplify community voices, foster public debate, and drive meaningful engagement on key issues. For this cycle, the focus areas are climate and the environment (with emphasis on U.S. fisheries, fishing communities, and climate-labor intersections), information and artificial intelligence, and global health (especially mental well-being and connections to the Global South). Eligible projects may include dialogues, public forums, community engagement, creative campaigns, and other innovative approaches that connect journalism to audiences and inspire impactful conversations.
