Description
This grant opportunity, administered by the U.S. Embassy Bishkek Public Diplomacy Section, seeks proposals to implement a program supporting the American Corners network in the Kyrgyz Republic. American Corners are U.S. government–supported information and cultural centers designed to showcase American innovation, promote U.S. values, and strengthen ties between the United States and Kyrgyzstan. The program aims to provide strategic guidance, administrative oversight, and resource support to six American Corners in Bishkek, Kant, Naryn, Karakol, Manas, and Osh, serving approximately 200,000 visitors annually.
Activities should enhance English language capacity (e.g., conversation clubs, educational resources), promote STEM excellence (e.g., hands-on workshops, mobile makerspaces), foster cultural exchange (e.g., speaker programs, events celebrating the U.S. 250th anniversary), and maintain reliable internet and upgraded facilities. The initiative also encourages accessibility and inclusion, including tailored resources for people with disabilities.
Target audiences include youth and emerging voices aged 14–30 (students, young professionals, entrepreneurs, educators), students aged 12–18 in underserved rural areas, and established opinion leaders, teachers, and parents. The overarching goal is to increase and sustain public participation in U.S.-aligned practices, values, and innovation, thereby deepening U.S.–Kyrgyz relations and supporting high-growth sectors.
