Description
This opportunity, funded by the U.S. Embassy Bishkek Public Diplomacy Section, seeks proposals to implement and support the American Corners network in the Kyrgyz Republic. American Corners are information and cultural centers that promote American values, innovation, and educational opportunities, serving approximately 200,000 visitors annually across six locations (Bishkek, Kant, Naryn, Karakol, Manas, and Osh).
Funded projects will provide strategic guidance, administrative oversight, and resource support for these centers, with activities focused on:
- Enhancing English language capacity (e.g., conversation clubs, educational resources)
- Promoting STEM excellence (hands-on workshops, mobile makerspaces, NASA Space Apps Challenge)
- Fostering cultural exchange (speaker programs, events celebrating U.S. independence)
- Maintaining reliable internet connectivity and facility upgrades
- Reaching diverse audiences, including youth (ages 12–30), rural students, educators, and people with disabilities
The program aims to deepen U.S.-Kyrgyz ties, increase access to American educational and technological resources, and promote American values such as free speech and innovation.
