Description
The U.S. Mission to Togo, through its Public Diplomacy (PD) Program, invites proposals for projects that foster stronger cultural ties between the United States and Togo. The program aims to promote mutual understanding and bilateral cooperation by supporting initiatives that highlight shared values and advance U.S. policy perspectives. All funded activities must include a significant American cultural component or direct involvement of American experts, organizations, or institutions.
Priority areas include:
- Peace & Security: Promoting peace, tolerance, social cohesion, and countering violent extremism.
- Democratic Institutions: Encouraging civic engagement and democratic participation, especially among youth and women.
- Economic Growth: Supporting entrepreneurship, social enterprises, and public-private partnerships.
- Opportunities for Development: Advancing education initiatives and empowering women, minorities, and persons with disabilities.

- Only one proposal per organization is allowed; multiple submissions from the same organization will render all proposals ineligible.

Review process:
- Proposals are evaluated on program idea, organizational capacity, planning, budget, monitoring/evaluation, sustainability, and support for equity/underserved communities.
Additional Information
- Ineligible activities: Partisan political activity, charitable/development activities, construction, religious activities, fundraising, lobbying, scientific research, institutional development, or duplicative programs.
- Funding restrictions: No funds for UNRWA, mass migration caravans, legal counseling on U.S. asylum, or vehicle purchases.
- Reporting: Grantees must submit financial and programmatic reports as specified in the award.
- Indirect costs: Organizations without a NICRA may request up to 15% of modified total direct costs.
