The program supports initiatives in a wide range of fields, including education, community development, environment, health, arts, and science and technology. The aim is to foster mutual understanding, collaboration, and the exchange of knowledge and values.
Applicants must first submit a concise (1-page) Statement of Interest (SOI) outlining their project idea and objectives. Selected applicants will then be invited to submit a full proposal for further merit review. Funding may be provided as a grant, fixed amount award (FAA), or cooperative agreement, with the possibility of substantial involvement from the embassy in project implementation.
Projects should be designed for completion within 18 months or less. Continuation funding may be considered for successful projects, subject to funding availability and program performance.
